Lions

Lions GM Martin Mayhew said he believes they’ll be thankful in the end that they didn’t sign DT Ndamukong Suh to a massive contract in the end.

“I think in the long term, I think we’re going to be glad we don’t have that contract on our books,” Mayhew said, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “But in the short term, that’s an issue.

Steelers

  • Mark Kaboly mentions that after speaking to GM Kevin Colbert on Sunday and HC Mike Tomlin on Monday, he would be “stunned” if the Steelers didn’t use their first-round pick on a cornerback.

  1. Martin Mayhew is spot on, they/he will be thankful. I think the Dolphins are going to regret signing Suh as well. Not from a lack of production on Suh’s part, but a financial one and a depleted roster at other key positions. They never REALLY had the money to give him to start with and with him being a DT on top of that.
I certainly don’t see his signing as something that is going to push the Dolphins into the playoffs, They’ll surely regret it, maybe not this year but beginning in 2016, they’ll see what a mistake they’ve made. When Suh signed with the Dolphins it was all about the money, because the Dolphins aren’t going anywhere for a while.
