NFL Notes: Andrew Luck, 49ers, Redskins, & Seahawks

Andrew Luck

Colts HC Chuck Pagano said they are “going to do the right thing” in regards to Andrew Luck‘s availability for Thursday night’s game against the Texans, via Indy Sports Central.

Luck said if he ends up playing in tomorrow night’s game, “I would not expect to be hindered at all.”

49ers

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick told reporters on Wednesday that he’s “not worried about his job security” after he and the team have struggled to open the year.

“I don’t play for job security,” Kaepernick said, via The Sacramento Bee. “Whether football’s here or not, I will be fine. I go out, I play to win. I’m not worried about job security when I step in this building.

Redskins

Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (hamstring) said he’s “trying to be” optimistic about the possibility of returning for their game against the Falcons.

“I don’t really have that pain anymore,” Jackson said, via ESPN.com. “Just getting acclimated, getting that flow, getting that blood moving back in that area. … It can’t just happen in one day, it’s my first day back out there. I definitely didn’t try to push it to that limit. Day by day I’ll be able to do more and do more reps.”

Seahawks

  • Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said RB Marshawn Lynch (hamstring) is making progress, but they won’t know status until end of week.
  • According to Sheil Kapadia, it sounds like Lynch could end up being a possible game-time decision in Week 5.
