NFL Notes: Arian Foster Packers, Rams, & Titans

Arian Foster

  • According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chroncile, the “best case scenario” for Texans RB Arian Foster (groin surgery) is that he would be back by late September.
  • John McClain told Sirius XM NFL Radio that Foster won’t be placed on short-term injured reserve and could instead be back around Week 4. (Bob Harris)

Packers

Rams

  • Rams HC Jeff Fisher announced Monday that first-round RB Todd Gurley has been cleared for practice.
  • Fisher added that he’s still unsure if Gurley will play in the season opener.
  • Fisher also announced that WR Brian Quick has been cleared for contact.

Titans

Titans HC Ken Whisenhunt seemed to scoff at the idea that they could make back QB Zach Mettenberger available for trade.

“In the league today it is very hard for one quarterback to make it through the whole season, so you better have a plan in case your starter doesn’t go,’’ Whisenhunt said, via Titansonline.com. “So we certainly feel very fortunate that we have Zach, and what Zach brings to the table.
