NFL Notes: Bears, Bills, Browns, Jets, & Seahawks

Bears

According to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune, Bears GM Ryan Pace has scouted Cal’s Jared Goff and Michigan State’s Connor Cook in person this season.

However, Campbell wonders if Jay Cutler has shown enough this season under new offensive coordinator Adam Gase to prevent the team from moving on next year.

Chicago will obviously need to decide whether or not to exercise Cutler’s $6 million option next year, but $10 million of his $16 million base salary for the 2016 season already is guaranteed. With this in mind, Campbell believes this is an “attractive cost for a quarterback who has shown signs of ascending under Gase.

Even so, Cutler will still need to perform at a high level over the remaining nine weeks of the season in order to convince the team to bring him back in 2016.

Bills

The NFL unveiled the Bills’ “Color Rush” uniforms for next week’s game against the Jets.

Browns

  • Mary Kay Cabot reports that Browns QB Josh McCown (ribs) is expected to be ready to play in Week 10’s game against the Steeleers.
  • However, Cabot mentions that McCown may not get the opportunity based on how Johnny Manziel plays tonight.

Jets

Seahawks

Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette announced via his Twitter account that he’s been released from the hospital after undergoing neck surgery.
