Bears

  • While Jimmy Clausen is considered the favorite to win the No. 2 quarterback job, the Bears are unlikely to make a decision until later in the preseason. (Michael C. Wright)
  • Backup C Brian De La Puente suffered a knee injury in the second quarter, but the severity os his injury isn’t known that this time. (Michael C. Wright)

Bills

  • Vancouver Canucks chairman Francesco Aquilini confirmed that he has explored the idea of purchasing the Bills, but ultimately decided to withdraw from the process. (Tim Graham)

Eagles

  • Second-round pick WR Jordan Matthews had a rough game, dropping three passes. (Phil Sheridan)
  • Seventh-round pick NT Beau Allen continued to make a strong case for a roster spot Friday. (Phil Sheridan)

Jaguars

  • HC Gus Bradley told reporters that first-round pick Blake Bortles will see some time with the first-team offense in the coming weeks. (Jason Cole)

Rams

  • HC Jeff Fisher announced that TE Mason Brodine is out for the season with a fractured ankle.
  • Sixth-round pick CB E.J. Gaines had a solid game for the Rams Friday night. (Nick Wagoner)
  • Seventh-round pick DE Michael Sam also played pretty well tackling Saints RB Khiry Robinson for no gain and a quarterback pressure that forced an incompletion. (Nick Wagoner)

Vikings

  • First-round pick QB Teddy Bridgewater had an “uneven performance” completing six of his 13 passes for 49 yards while being sacked twice. (Ben Goessling)J
