NFL Notes: Bears, Chargers, Eagles, & Falcons

Bears

  • Adam Caplan reports that the Chicago Bears have hired former Eagles south west area college scout Brad Obee.

Chargers

Chargers veteran WR Malcom Floyd reiterated that 2015 will be his final season in the NFL.

“I have four kids now,” Floyd said, via the Union-Tribune San Diego. “I’m barely getting any time with them. I’ve got to go home and rest.

Eagles

  • Phil Sheridan of ESPN suggests reworking G Evan Mathis‘ contract and include bonuses for making the Pro Bowl as a solution for Eagles.
  • Eagles S Earl Wolff is recovering from a “lesser version” of microfracture surgery on his knee, but the team has yet to clear him medically. (Les Bowen)

Falcons

Falcons first-round OLB Vic Beasley is already drawing comparisons to Broncos Pro Bowler Von Miller.

“I hate to relate him to somebody else … he’s got great speed and quickness, very similar to Von Miller,” said DC Richard Smith, who coached Miller in Denver last season, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN. “I’m not saying he’s a Von Miller. You’ve got to go out and earn those things. But I think if you talk to Vic, he would tell you that [Miller] is one of the players that he’s watched over the years. But he does have that elite quickness, very similar to what Von Miller had when he came out.”
