Vikings GM Rick Spielman tells Pro Football Talk that even though they did not pick up QB Teddy Bridgewater‘s fifth-year option, it’s still possible he could be back with the team beyond this season.

“It doesn’t mean Teddy wouldn’t be a Minnesota Viking, it just means, where his health is at this point, we wouldn’t pick up his option,” Spielman said.

  • Vikings HC Mike Zimmer said of Bridgewater:  “I’m probably more optimistic (about him playing again) than any other time… But he still has a ways to go.” (Darren Wolfson)
