NFL Notes: Bears, Jets, Panthers, Raiders, Ravens & Saints

 

Bears

• The Bears announced that DE Jared Allen returned to practice Wednesday after a bout with pneumonia. 

Jets

• Head Coach Rex Ryan said that the Jets considered signing CB Brandon Flowers before he ultimately signed with San Diego. (Brian Costello)

Panthers

• The Panthers announced RB DeAngelo Williams will have his cast removed Friday, but will still not play Sunday against the Bears.
• The Panthers will use RB Darrin Reaves as the starting back against the Bears. (David Newton)
• It does appear that the Panthers will add a running back to the mix with all the injuries they have sustained. (David Newton)

Raiders

• QB Derek Carr said that he expects to play against the Chargers in week six after the bye. (Vic Tarfur)
• QB Matt Schaub has rejoined the team after a two-week absence to address a family matter. (Vic Tafur)

Ravens

• Eugene Monroe was noncommittal when asked about a timeline for his return from knee surgery.  The expectation is roughly one month, however. (Aaron Wilson)

Saints

• OT Terron Armstead said he cleared the league’s concussion protocol meaning he could play this week. (Mike Triplett)
