NFL Notes: Bengals, Cowboys, Lions, Saints & Steelers

 

Bengals

• TE Jermaine Gresham is recovering from hernia surgery, which explains the signing of veteran TE Alex Smith earlier today. (Field Yates)
• The Bengals are “toying with” the idea of having RBs Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill on the field at the same time. (Geoff Hobson)

Cowboys

• Cowboys released S Marvin Robinson and CB Jocquel Skinner and signed rookie free agent DT Dartwan Bush.

Lions

• G Rob Sims is recovering from an offseason “clean up” surgery. Sims recently mentioned that he would like to sign an extension with the Lions. (Justin Rogers)

Saints

• QB Ryan Griffin is making a “serious push” for the backup quarterback job. Griffin is competing with Luke McCown for the position. (Andrew Lopez)

Steelers

• OLB Jason Worilds confirmed that there has been “no progress” contract talks with the Steelers. (Ed Bouchette)
