Bill Cowher

  • Former Steelers HC Bill Cowher said during an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio that he won’t be coaching next year.

“It does get your blood going, but no I’m in a really good place,” Cowher said. “I really enjoy my job with CBS.

“It’s good. I’m in a good place. You’re not going to see me on the sidelines. I enjoy it, you miss it, but not enough to get back.

Cowher’s name had come up as a speculative option for the Bills.

Chargers

  • G Chad Rinehart activated an escalator bonus in his contract that will pay him $900,000 in 2015 for playing more than 85 of the team’s snaps this season. (Michael Gehlken)
  • Rinehart’s base salary for next year will now be $3.15 million. (Michael Gehlken)

Cowboys

  • Cowboys RT Doug Free (foot) is listed as doubtful for their Wildcard game against the Lions.

Jets

  • The Jets will interview Texans executive Mike Maccagnan for their position on Monday. (Jason La Canfora)

Rams
