NFL Notes: Bills, Browns, Jets, Raiders, & Saints

Bills

• Gil Brandt reports that Bills HC Rex Ryan was in Waco, Texas last week to work out Baylor QB Bryce Petty.

Browns

• The Browns gave former Packers CB Tramon Williams a three-year, $21 million contract that can pay him as much as $7.5 million in 2015. (Tom Pelissero)
• Williams will make another $6.5 million in 2016, which includes $2.8 million guaranteed. (Tom Pelissero)

Jets

• The New York Jets announced that they’re hosting free agent OL James Brewer for a visit on Wednesday.
• Aaron Wilson reports that CB Marcus Gilchrist‘s four-year, $22 million with the Jets includes $8.5 million guaranteed and a $2.5 million signing bonus.
• Gilchrist will make base salaries of $1 million (2015), $5 million (2016), $6 million (2017), and $6 million (2018). It’s worth mentioning that his 2015 salary is guaranteed.

Raiders

• Tom Pelissero reports that QB Christian Ponder‘s new contract with the Raiders is one-year, $2.25 million deal that includes a $1.5 million signing bonus.

Saints

• New Saints RB C.J. Spiller receives a four-year, $16 million deal that includes $9 million guaranteed and a $5 million signing bonus. (Aaron Wilson)
• Spiller’s base salaries will be: $750,000 (2015), $1.7 million (2016), $3.1 million (2017), and $2.9 million (2018). He is 2015 salary if fully guaranteed. (Aaron Wilson)
• Spiller 2016 base salary of $1.7 million is guaranteed for injury at signing, and will be fully guaranteed if he’s on their roster as of the third day of 2016 league year. (Aaron Wilson)
