NFL Notes: Bills, Buccaneers, & Colts

Bills

  • According to Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News, signs point to the Bills allowing the legal process to play out before addressing the situation involving OL coach Aaron Kromer.
  • Dunne considers assistant offensive line coach Kurt Anderson to be a logical replacement in the event they part ways with Kromer.

Buccaneers

Buccaneers CB C.J. Wilson, who recently lost two fingers in an unfortunate fireworks accident, was released from the hospital Friday and is “in very good spirits,” according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan.

“For me, that really doesn’t matter,” said Wilson’s father, Curtis Wilson Sr. “My son is alive, so God took care of him as far as that. I guess we’ll cross that bridge later on down the road.

Colts

According to Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, Colts QB Andrew Luck could target a record-setting five-year deal worth around $125 million with over $70 million guaranteed.

Depending on the structure of the deal, there’s a chance that this contract, close to half of the $70 million guaranteed could be be guaranteed for injury only, depending on if they model this deal after the contract signed by Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.

Interestingly enough, Seifert mentions that Luck could pursue a contract that is fully guaranteed or close to it, and sacrifice some of the nonguaranteed money in the agreement.

Seifert suggests $100 million over five years, which would pay him an average salary of $20 million and include $90 million fully guaranteed.
