NFL Notes: Bills, Buccaneers, Eagles, & Steelers

Bills

  • RB Fred Jackson is hoping to return sooner than later after he suffered a groin injury a few weeks ago.

“I’m trying to get out there and play as soon as possible,” Jackson said. via Chris Brown BuffaloBills.com. “It’s going to come down to what the doctors tell me. If I’m out there and moving around and I’m not effective then it’s pointless for me to be out there. But as far as I’m concerned I’m trying to get back as soon as possible. But like I said our doctors ultimately control when it is that I get back out there and see the field.

Buccaneers

  • GM Jason Licht mentioned that RB Charles Sims is “very likely” to make his NFL debut in Week 10 against the Falcons. (Tom Krasniqi)

Eagles

Jeff McLane mentions that a 4-6 timetable for QB Nick Foles return from a broken collarbone could be “generous.”

McLane mentions that Eagles WR Riley Cooper underwent surgery to repair displaced clavicle and wound up missing 10 weeks back in 2012.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is the most recent example of a player coming off of a similar injury to his non-throwing shoulder and he missed seven weeks last year.

Steelers

  • Rookie LB Ryan Shazier reportedly has “just a twisted ankle” and it’s not considered to be anything major. (Ian Rapoport)
