NFL Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Ravens, Vikings

Bills

The Buffalo Bills announced Thursday that they’ve hired Terrance Gray as their new Director of College Scouting.

“Terrance is what I would label a young riser in this business,” Bills GM Brandon Beane said. “(Minnesota GM) Rick Spielman has had a great staff, well-respected guys around the league. Terrance worked his way up to a Southeast area scout. The southeast is well known as a prime talent area. He’s done a great job.

“Rick (Spielman) gave him a great recommendation. (Minnesota Assistant GM) George Paton as well when I called those guys. Every reference that (Bills Assistant GM) Joe (Schoen) and I called on said that Terrance has what it takes, he just hasn’t had the opportunity.”

Dolphins

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill told reporters that his knee is healed and “ready to go” for the 2017 season.

“Yeah, it’s really strong and ready to go,” Tannehill said of his ACL, via Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

Tannehill added that he feels back to being 100 percent healthy.

“I feel good. I’m feeling back to 100 percent,” Tannehill said. “Everything feels totally normal. I’m going to keep pushing to get better next year.

“It started feeling good probably at the end of January. I was rehabbing it hard every day, a few hours every day. I really got comfortable with my rehab. I kept pushing and pushing and pushing. It finally got to where I felt I’m comfortable with it. I feel like I can make any cut. I trust it. That’s the biggest thing, do you trust it? Are you able to move without thinking about whether something’s going to happen. Once it got to that point I felt great about it.”

Tannehill also confirmed that he plans to wear a knee brace this season.

“I am going to be wearing it throughout the season so I’m comfortable and it’s just second-nature at that point,” Tannehill said.

Ravens

  • According to Jeff Zrebiec, Ravens TE Maxx Williams is recovering from a knee surgery that “no other football player has had,” but he is still expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
  • Ravens HC John Harbaugh said Thursday that ILB C.J. Mosley is recovering from shoulder surgery, but it’s not considered to be a long-term issue. (Jeff Zrebiec)

Vikings

  • The Vikings announced that they’ve signed fifth-round WR Rodney Adams to a four-year contract.
