NFL Notes: Bills, Jets, Raiders, Ravens, & Texans

Bills

Bills GM Doug Whaley said that QB Tyrod Taylor has “everything you’re looking for” from a quarterback.

It’s a production-based business,” Whaley said Monday, per Tyler Dunne of The Buffalo News. “He produced with the twos so we’re excited for him to get in there Thursday (against Cleveland) with the ones to see what he can do. Everybody knows what he can do with his feet. But I’m impressed with a couple of his throws.

“He’s got everything you’re looking for,” said Whaley. “We just have to make sure he can produce when his time’s called.

Jets

Raiders

  • Herbie Teope reports that the Raiders have waived WR Austin Willis.

Ravens

  • Ravens activated S Terrance Brooks from the active/PUP list. (Jeff Zrebiec)

Texans

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle writes that Texans G Brandon Brooks is in line for a “major payday” as a free agent or a long-term extension with Houston.

“I just let my agent handle it all,” said Brooks of his contract situation. “All I can control is playing football. Without a good season, there is no contract at the end of it.

“I think a lot of guys get caught up in the whole contract deal and press and try to be perfect all the time and try to never make a mistake. That’s when you play tight and don’t play the way you normally do.”
