NFL Notes: Blackout Rules, Colts, Dolphins, Patriots, & Redskins

Blackout Rules

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has voted to eliminate the Blackout rule that prohibited pay-TV providers from airing some home sports games if the game did not sell out. (Daniel Kaplan)

“With this decision the FCC is officially out of the sports blackout business,” says commissioner Ajit Pai.

“The NFL has the right to enforce their current blackout rules and I suspect that they will continue to do so,” said FCC commissioner Michael O’Rielly.

It appears as though the NFL will likely keep their blackout rules in place, despite the ruling from the FCC on Tuesday.

Colts

Dolphins

  • The Dolphins are working out DL Emmanuel Dieke on Tuesday. (Aaron Wilson)

Patriots
