NFL Notes: Broncos, Browns, Buccaneers & Patriots

Broncos

  • Troy Renck reports that Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is ahead of schedule in return from his knee injury and could be back for the playoffs.

Browns

Browns HC Hue Jackson said QB Robert Griffin III must go through one more medical test next week before returning off the team’s injured reserve.

There is another procedure that he needs to go through medically to see for sure if he is totally OK, if the bone is healed totally properly,” said Jackson, via Scott Petrak of The Chronicle. “But he will have the opportunity to start practicing next week and go out there with his teammates and perform and do what he can do.

Griffin is expected to resume practice next week for the first time since injuring his shoulder back during Week 1.

Buccaneers

  • Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter told Alex Marvez that it “doesn’t look like” WR Josh Huff can play against the Chiefs this weekend after he suffered an injury during practice. Koetter added that a return date for Huff is currently unknown.
  • Koetter also mentioned that there should be more snaps for WR Freddie Martino this weekend and WR Russell Sheppard (hip, questionable) will play. (Alex Marvez)
