NFL Notes: Broncos, Cardinals, Cowboys

Broncos

  • Nicki Jhabvala reports that the Broncos and WR Carlos Henderson are still working to determine whether he’ll return to the team.
  • Jhabvala explains one of the issues the two parties are discussing including fines for missing camp.
  • Even if Henderson were to return, Jhabvala doubts that he would make the 53-man roster, but she says that the practice squad is a real possibility.

Cardinals

  • On Friday, the Cardinals announced that they’ve signed C A.Q. Shipley to a one-year extension (NFLTR), despite the fact that he’s out for the season with a torn ACL.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that Shipley’s extension is worth $2 million for the 2019 season including incentives.

Cowboys

  • Todd Archer of ESPN explains that in order for Cowboys C Travis Frederick (Guillain-Barre) to be eligible to play this season, he’ll need to have been on the 53-man roster for at least one day.
  • With this in mind, Archer says it’s possible the Cowboys could keep Frederick on their active roster as of Sept 1 before moving him to injured reserve the following day.
  • From there, Dallas can bring him back from injured reserve after eight weeks with the designation to return.
