NFL Notes: Broncos, Eagles, Redskins & Texans

Broncos

Even though HC Gary Kubiak told reporters last week that quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian are in a virtual tie for the No. 1 job, Mike Klis of 9News believes Sanchez “is the guy.”

According to Klis, the fact that Sanchez hasn’t played much the past three years is likely the reason for Kubiak not anointing him the team’s starting quarterback.

Sanchez has said that he understands that the team would like to see him in action before handing him the job.

“Sure. I understand that,” Sanchez said. “Listen, I’m grateful for the opportunity.  If they say compete in checkers or shuffleboard or flipping coins or playing hoops, I don’t care what it is.  I feel like I can win. As long as they want that to go on, I’ve just got to keep winning.’

Eagles

Redskins

  • According to Rich Tandler, the Redskins are “cautiously optimistic” that DB DeAngelo Hall will be able to lock down the starting safety job.
  • Tandler mentions the Redskins will show some degree of patience in Hall’s conversion to safety, but he will not have an unlimited rope for mistakes.
