NFL Notes: Broncos, Jets, Lions, Panthers, & Saints

Broncos

  • Mike Klis reports that the Broncos will actually receive a seventh-round compensatory pick instead of the sixth-round pick that was announced earlier in the week.

Jets

  • CB Darrelle Revis said that the Patriots’ offer “wasn’t in the ballpark” of what he received from the Jets, even though Robert Kraft said that their offer was “competitive.” (Albert Breer)

Lions

Lions HC Jim Caldwell told reporters on Wednesday that he doesn’t anticipate any changes to their defensive scheme in 2015, even after losing DTs Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley.

“We were extremely multiple,” Caldwell said Wednesday, via Michael Rothstein of ESPN. “We did a little bit of everything, and I think you’ll see the same thing happen this fall.”

Panthers

  • The Panthers received a sixth-round compensatory pick instead of the fifth-round selection that was announced earlier in the week. (Bryan Strickland)

Saints

Mike Garafolo reports that the Saints regretted the four-year, $40 million deal they gave to TE Jimmy Graham right away.

According to Garafolo, Saints GM Mickey Loomis reportedly told people that had Graham won his grievance hearing to be considered a receiver and not a tight end, he would have traded Graham immediately.

Graham put together a disappointing 2014 season, which helped the Saints move in a different direction.
