NFL Notes: Broncos, Jets, Raiders, & Redskins

Broncos

  • Mike Klis of The Denver Post writes that the Broncos are hoping to have a resolution early this week regarding whether or not they’ll be able to interview Bengals DBs coach Vance Joseph for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Jets

Joel Corry of CBS Sports takes a look at some potential offseason targets for the Jets in his latest column.

According to Corry, cornerbacks like Kareem Jackson (Texans) and Antonio Cromartie (Cardinals) would make sense for the Jets given their ties to new GM Mike Maccagnan and HC Todd Bowles.

Corry adds that New York could monitor the status of receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson if they were to be available.

Raiders

Joel Corry wouldn’t be a surprise if Broncos DT Terrence Knighton follows Jack Del Rio to Oakland in the coming months.

Interestingly enough, Corry mentions that the Raiders could try to outbid the Broncos for some of their other free agents including TE Julius Thomas and OL Orlando Franklin.

It’s worth mentioning that new Raiders OC Bill Musgrave has ties to Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin. Although, he could be under contract before we’re even close to the start of free agency.

Redskins

Joel Corry points out that hiring of Bill Callahan as offensive line coach could be an indication that the Redskins are looking to implement a power-blocking scheme.

New GM Scot McCloughan has ties to 49ers free agent G Mike Iupati, while Callahan spent last season working directly with Cowboys free agent RTs Doug Free and Jermey Parnell.

Other free agent suggestions from Corry include Chargers CB Brandon Flowers and Seahawks LB Malcolm Smith.
