NFL Notes: Broncos, Seahawks, Steelers, Texans

Broncos

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Broncos LB Nate Irving suffered a serious right knee injury during Sunday’s loss to the Patriots and is expected to miss some time.

According to Klis, Irving will undergo an MRI on Monday, but the fear from the Broncos is that he suffered some form of ligament damage.

In fact, Klis writes that Irving’s was in so much pain that members of the Broncos’ medical staff helped him get dressed following the game.

Seahawks

Steelers

  • Troy Polamalu was forced from Sunday’s game after he suffered a knee strain.
  • Rookie ILB Ryan Shazier suffered right ankle injury during Sunday night’s game against the Steelers.

Texans

Texans HC Bill O’Brien told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Eagles that everything will be reevaluated including the quarterback position.

“I think we have to evaluate everything,” said O’Brien, when asked if he’ll make a QB change, via Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle. “I don’t think you can always – and I’ve said this along – I don’t think you can look at one position and put all the blame on that.

“I think we have to look at, as far as what we’re doing offensively, we have to look at … who’s playing what, what positions they’re playing, how we’re getting the ball, how we’re playing at every position, including quarterback — we have to look at all of that.”
