NFL Notes: Browns, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Jets & Packers

Browns

  • Browns HC Hue Jackson said of impending free agent LB Jamie Collins: “It would be a coup if we can keep him here.” (Scott Petrak)
  • Jackson mentioned that QB Robert Griffin III will undergo tests next week to determine whether he can be cleared for contact. (Nate Ulrich)
  • Jackson added that RGIII will start practicing next week but still has another medical hurdle to overcome before being fully cleared. (Scott Petrak)

Buccaneers

  • Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter ruled out G Kevin Pamphile for Week 11’s game, as he won’t pass the NFL’s concussion protocol in time. (Rick Stroud)
  • Koetter mentioned that promoting WR Josh Huff to their active roster is an option, but Huff hurt himself in practice Friday, so they’ll have to see how he’s doing. (Greg Auman)
  • Koetter also told reporters that no decision has been made regarding who they’ll activate from injured reserve but he did say that it would be “safe to assume that [Charles Sims] is gonna be right up there.” (Jenna Laine)

Cardinals

  • According to Mike Jurecki, Cardinals WR Jaron Brown’s 2017 base salary following his new contract extension will be $775,000. Jurecki adds that Brown likely receives a signing bonus as part of the agreement.

Jets

  • Rich Cimini of ESPN takes a look at some early draft target for the Jets next year if they end up drafting in the top portion of round one.
  • Among the players to watch for the Jets, according to Cimini, are: LSU RB Leonard Fournette, LT Cam Robinson, LSU S Jamal Adams, Alabama OLB Tim Williams and Michigan S Jabrill Peppers.

Packers

  • The Packers officially ruled out G T.J. Lang and LB Jake Ryan for Sunday’s game against the Redskins. (Rob Demovsky)
  • Packers LT David Bakhtiari is expected to return this week, despite sustaining a knee injury last week.
  • Green Bay could also get OLB Clay Matthews and TE Jared Cook back this week.
