NFL Notes: Browns, Chargers, Eagles, Jaguars, & Ravens

Browns

  • Browns HC Mike Pettine said of the report that they have “90 percent moved on’‘ from QB Johnny Manziel: “I filed that one in the ridiculous category. He’s very much in our plans.” (Mary Kay Cabot)
  • Regarding the possibility of trading up for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, Pettine said: “Sure, why not?” (Mary Kay Cabot)

Chargers

  • Michael Gehlken reports that the Chargers approached QB Philip Rivers regarding a contract extension, but he declined to broach the subject.

Eagles

Mark Eckel of NJ.com wonders if ILB Mychal Kendricks‘ absence from the first day of offseason workouts was because he doesn’t want to be there or the Eagles are in the process of trading him.

According to Eckel, there are some in the Eagles organization who don’t see Kendricks as a great fit in Billy Davis‘ defense and question his instincts.

Eckel adds that Kendricks is in the final year of his rookie contract, which will likely impact the type of return Philadelphia could get for him.

Jaguars

Ravens

  • Aaron Wilson reports that Maryland WR Stefon Diggs will attend the Ravens’ local prospect day.
