NFL Notes: Browns, Colts, Packers, Patriots, & Texans

Browns

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has confirmed that the NFL is looking into the Browns decision to list CB Joe Haden as probably, even though he was later deactivated.

As is customary in these instances, we have checked in with the club on this to provide an explanation,” a league spokesman told Florio. “We are looking into it.

Browns HC Mike Pettine explained that the decision was ultimately left up to Haden, who didn’t feel he could go.

Colts

Packers

According to Rob Demovsky, the Packers could get starting RT Bryan Bulaga back sooner than anticipated.

Bulaga could return to some football activity this week, even though reports had said that he could miss four to six weeks with an MCL injury.

I know Bryan feels he’s getting stronger,” HC Mike McCarthy said Monday evening. “We’ll make a decision on Wednesday.

Packers OC Edgar Bennett mentioned that WR Jared Abbrederis will get his opportunities this season.

“He’s been consistent in practice. Starting point is in classroom and then practice field,” Bennett said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “He’s gotten better and better. Two fantastic weeks of practice. It was pretty close (to getting him in there). He’ll have opportunities in the future.

Patriots

  • Mike Reiss reports that the Patriots hosted former Colts RB Dan “Boom” Herron for a workout today.

Texans

  • Texans CB Kareem Jackson has been cleared of a concussion and will play Thursday night’s Week 5 game against the Colts. (Aaron Wilson)
