NFL Notes: Browns, Dolphins, Lions, Packers & Texans

Browns

  • Browns HC Hue Jackson announced that they’re sticking with Cody Kessler as their starting quarterback for Week 10’s game.
  • According to Jackson, DC Ray Horton is not in danger of losing his job, despite the team’s struggles. (Mary Kay Cabot)

Dolphins

  • Dolphins HC Adam Gase told reporters on Monday that TE Jordan Cameron (concussions) wants to continue his NFL career, rather than retire. (Ian Rapoport)

Lions

  • Dave Birkett mentions that CB Darius Slay and RT Riley Reiff are expected to return after Lions’ bye.
  • Beyond that, Birkett says that the expectation is LB DeAndre Levy will be back soon, but it remains to be seen how much practice time he’ll need before seeing game action.

Packers

  • Packers HC Mike McCarthy mentioned that OLB Clay Matthews looked good in their Thursday practice last week but unfortunately suffered a setback on Friday, which explains why he didn’t play on Sunday. (Wes Hodkiewicz)

Texans

  • Aaron Wilson reports that Texans rookie CB Kevin Johnson did not require surgery for his broken foot and his long-term outlook is good.
