NFL Notes: Browns, Eagles, Rams, & Steelers

Browns

Browns HC Mike Pettine referred to the idea that the team has moved on from QB Johnny Manziel as being “irresponsible.”

“It doesn’t thrill me,” Pettine said, via NFL.com. “I don’t pay much attention to what’s going on outside of the building, but when it potentially can drive a spike between the staff and the team, I have issues with it. To me, to talk about how a team’s potentially moved on from a player, or he’s not in plans, that’s just irresponsible.”

Pettine added that they feel good about where Manziel is right now and he’s been impressed with how hard the second-year quarterback has been working.

“We all feel good about where (Manziel) is,” Pettine said. “You could see, he shows some frustration out there because he wants it to be perfect, he wants it to be done right, he wants to do it the way that we’re coaching him to do it. He’s probably been the hardest guy on himself.

Eagles

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks mentioned that he’s unsure about his future with Philadelphia.

“I don’t know,” Kendricks replied, via Mark Eckel of NJ.com. “I don’t know. I think so.

“I can’t control whatever happens here. I like Philly. I’d like to finish where I started. I like it out here. But again whatever happens, happens.”

Rams

  • Rams signed sixth-round pick WR Bud Sasser to a four-year contract.

Steelers

  • The Steelers had Devin Gardner working at quarterback during their Tuesday OTA practice, which is interesting considering that he started off as a receiver in NFL camps. (Jeremy Fowler)
