NFL Notes: Browns, Packers, Panthers, Saints, & Texans

 

Browns

• Pat McManamon of ESPN writes that it would be “absolute lunacy” for the Browns not to try and re-sign QB Brian Hoyer if he continues to play like he has.

Packers

• Rookie WR Jeff Janis could be active for the first time in his young career given that Jarrett Boykin is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. (Rob Demovsky)

Panthers

• LB Thomas Davis and RB Jonathan Stewart have both made progress in recent days. (David Newton)
• HC Ron Rivera mentioned that he expects WR Philly Brown to see more playing time going forward. (David Newton)

Saints

• Saints NT John Jenkins did not travel with the team to Dallas (non injury related) and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game. (Brandon George)

Texans

• John McClain expects RB Arian Foster to play against the Bills, despite the fact that he is considered a game-time decision.
• P Shane Lechler has reportedly made “great improvement” from his hip flexor injury and is expected to play on Sunday. (John McClain)
