NFL Notes: Browns, Patriots, Rams, Texans, & Vikings

Browns

Patriots

  • Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that the Patriots have been “working the phones recently looking for some offensive tackle help.”
  • However, they weren’t able to find any deals of interest, which means they could be looking to add an offensive tackle once teams begin to make roster cuts.

Rams

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that CB E.J. Gaines is out for the season after undergoing surgery to repair a Lisfranc foot injury he suffered during training camp.

“It’s a tough break,” said a team source tells Thomas. “But the team will roll on. He’ll be 100 percent when he comes back. We’ll keep him busy and keep him occupied during his rehab.”

Texans

Vikings

  • Vikings HC Mike Zimmer confirmed that fourth-round OL T.J. Clemmings will get the first chance to be their starting right tackle following the injury to Phil Loadholt. (Matt Vensel)
