NFL Notes: Browns, Rams, & Seahawks

Browns

Former QB Terrelle Pryor discussed his transition to playing wide receiver at the NFL level with  Pittsburgh Tribune-Review last week.

“I’m going to give this slash-player deal a chance,” Pryor said. “I just want to play football. I’m a playmaker, and I believe if I can touch the ball, I can go to the house, especially if I have space. This should definitely open up some opportunities.

In the end, Pryor seems to think his experience playing receiver will help him make a quick adjustment to being a receiver.

“The thing that helps me is that I played quarterback, and I know what the quarterback wants,” Pryor said. “What I’ve got to work on is the specifics, cutting in and out of the breaks. Athletically, I believe I can do anything on the field. When I get on the field, I may not be the best, but I always feel like I am. I bring that mindset. I work my hardest to be the best I can at that position.”

Rams

Field Yates of ESPN.com (Insider) takes a look at the pros and cons of the Rams extending QB Nick Foles, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

Yates points out that there’s logic to the idea of a team being a year too late to pay their quarterback than a year too early, especially when you consider the list of question marks regarding Foles and how he’ll perform in a new offensive system.

Seahawks

  • Joey Corry of CBS Sports mentions that a holdout from Seahawks DE Michael Bennett would likely be an “expensive waste of time.
  • Corry doesn’t think the Seahawks will be willing to make any adjustments to his contract just a year into the agreement.
