Panthers
Panthers DT Kawaan Short said he is still hopeful on finalizing a long-term extension with the team before Thursday’s regular season opener.
“We’ve still got a couple more days, so hopefully something changes,” said Short, via Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer.
It is worth mentioning that GM Dave Gettleman does not normally negotiate contracts once the regular season starts.
Patriots
- According to Doug Kyed, the Patriots signed DB Mike Hilton to their practice squad after trying out on Tuesday.
- In addition to Hilton, the Patriots worked out the following defensive backs: Trae Elston, Stefan McClure, JaCorey Shepherd, and Kevin Short.
