NFL Notes: Cap Causalities, Packers, Ravens, & Saints

Potential Cap Causalities

Jason Fitzgerald has a great article up at The Sporting News that takes a look at some notable players who could be cap causalities this offseason.

According to Fitzgerald, some names to watch include:

Packers

Rob Demovsky of ESPN writes that with RT Bryan Bulaga staying healthy and putting together a decent year, he is seemingly in “prime position for a second lucrative contract.”

Demovsky adds that if the Packers are going to make their decision based purely off the tape, “there’s little reason to think they would not want Bulaga back.

However, Bulaga has been placed on season-ending injured reserve twice since entering the league, so there are some injury concerns with him.

Ravens

Saints

Larry Holder of The Times-Picayune writes that the Saints firing DC Rob Ryan may not be “as concrete as you’d think.”

Holder mentions that parting ways with Ryan would force the Saints to hire their fourth defensive coordinator in five seasons, and Ryan actually has a great deal of support from the players in the locker room.
