NFL Notes: Cap Situations, Bears, Bills, & Seahawks

Cap Situations

Field Yates of ESPN (Insider) takes a look at a few teams that are either in good situations in regards to their 2015 cap, or find themselves in a difficult spot.

According to Yates, the Jaguars and Jets will both have plenty of cap room to work and teams like the Packers and Seahawks have struck a good balance between a solid roster and available cap space.

Conversely, the Saints and Cardinals are likely to be tight up against the cap in 2015.

Bears

  • Jason La Canfora reports that Bears DE LaMarr Houston has a $5.95 million guarantee for the 2015 that triggers today.

Bills

  • Mike Rodak of ESPN writes that the Bills face a tough decision regarding free agent DE Jerry Hughes, as he could be relegated to a part-time role as a sub rusher in Rex Ryan’s defense.

Seahawks

  • Josina Anderson reports that Seahawks defensive assistant Marquand Manuel will accept an offer to become the Falcons new secondary coach and senior defensive consultant.
  • The Seahawks signed WR Douglas McNeil to three-year contract. (Aaron Wilson)
