NFL Notes: Cardinals, Cowboys, Eagles, & Steelers

Cardinals

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians said that CB Patrick Peterson re-assuming punt return duties is “always a possibility.”

I saw Patrick grab a punt and just outflank everybody real quick,” Arians said, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. “I had to check who’s on that punt team real fast, make sure there weren’t any starters.”

Cowboys

Cowboys RBs coach Gary Brown said that RB Lance Dunbar must get “more involved” in the offense this season.

I envision [him getting more opportunities],” said Brown, via The Dallas Morning News. “I think he’s a hell of a football player, we’ve got to try and get him more involved and I think [offensive coordinator Scott Linehan] is going to do a great job doing that.”

Eagles

Seahawks CB Cary Williams said that HC Chip Kelly‘s conditioning program wore players down while he was with the Eagles.

We was talking about the fact that our conditioning and things like was going to kick in because we worked harder than everybody in the National Football League with the Chip Kelly thing,” Williams said on 710 ESPN in Seattle. “We got out there, we got our teeth kicked in. So all that conditioning didn’t necessarily work. Preparation wasn’t necessarily the greatest neither that week.”

Steelers

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger believes second-year WR Martavis Bryant has shown a good amount of growth this offseason.

I have seen growth. I have seen a guy that wants to be good, wants to be great, every day he is working at his craft and talking to me about things he can improve on,” said Roethlisberger, via the Steelers official site. “You just see him continuing to grow and learn from the best in the business who is in his room in Antonio (Brown).
