NFL Notes: Cardinals, Jets, Saints, Seahawks

Cardinals

  • Cardinals C A.Q. Shipley underwent core surgery to fix a “lingering” problem he suffered at the end of last season, but he’s still expected to be ready for the start of training camp. (Darren Urban)

Jets

Saints

Saints QB Drew Brees mentioned that he “could not be more impressed” with free agent addition Ted Ginn.

“I could not be more impressed with him,” Brees said, per Mike Triplett. “He certainly doesn’t look like he’s lost a step. He can fly.”

Seahawks

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll mentioned that QB Russell Wilson is back to moving around like normal after battling an ankle injury for much of last season.

“He looks great throwing the football,” Carroll said, via ESPN.com. “He looks great moving around. It just feels so much different than it did for so long of that season. Never during that season last year did we see him in practice where he could move. Never. So he mustered it up for game time. The last five or six games, [he] could move. But it isn’t like it is now. So we’ve got to take care of him, look after him, and have tremendous expectations for Russell’s performance next year.”
