Harry Edwards, a sociologist who has been an adviser to Colin Kaepernick, tells Jarrett Bell of USA Today that three teams have contacted him about Kaepernick since free agency opened in March.

“They’ve asked, ‘Can he play? Does he want to play?’ “ Edwards said. “The last question I can’t answer. The first question, absolutely. If Kaep makes up his mind, he wouldn’t only go in and make a team, he’d put pressure on somebody to start.”

However, Kaepernick’s girlfriend, Nessa Diab, refuted the claims on her Twitter account:

Eagles

  • The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve signed undrafted free agent TE Billy Brown to a contract on Friday.

Lions

The Detroit Lions announced some changes to their scouting department on Friday including:

  • Kyle O’Brien, Vice President of Player Personnel
  • Lance Newmark, Director of Player Personnel
  • Dave Sears, Assistant Director of College Scouting
  • Steve Neal, Area Scout
  • Ron Miles, College Scout
  • Eloy Ledesma, BLESTO Scout
