NFL Notes: Colin Kaepernick, Nick Bosa, Raiders

Colin Kaepernick

Mark Geragos, the attorney for QB Colin Kaepernick, hinted that there could be some news regarding his client possibly joining an NFL team at some point in the near future.

I’ve been pilloried for the idea that I said a year ago he’s gonna get a contract in 10 days,” Geragos tells TMZ.com. “I would just say stay tuned, that next week there may be some news.

According to Geragos, the Raiders and Patriots are both worth watching.

“I’ve got two other teams that will remain nameless,” Geragos said.

“I’ll just say this, ‘If Al Davis was still alive.’ That’s all I’m gonna say.”

Geragos was asked whether he’s aware that Meek Mill is writing a Kaepernick anthem and responded: “You know who Meek Mill was visited by when he was in custody?”

Someone off camera said “Robert Kraft” to which Geragos responded: “Bingo!”

Nick Bosa

  • Ohio State HC Urban Meyer announced Thursday that star DE Nick Bosa underwent surgery for a core muscle injury and is currently without a timetable for return. (Bill Landis)
  • ESPN’s Mel Kiper posted his updated 2019 Big Board on Thursday with Bosa being listed as his No. 1 overall player.

Raiders

Raiders QB Derek Carr tells Scott Bair of NBC Bay Area that he’s happy for DE Khalil Mack, but admitted that it’s difficult to see him put together back-to-back great games.

“It’s hard to watch him go out and strip-sack everybody,” Carr said. “He has done that so many times here, and it hurts your heart to see it, but at the same time, it doesn’t hurt anymore. I’m happy for him. If you’re a Raider fan, it’s hard to see him do that. But just be happy for the guy. He has strained his tail off to get to where he’s at. The fact he’s making plays for someone else, we don’t like it, but we can be happy for him because we all love him to death.”
  • According to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, Raiders rookie DT P.J. Hall is not expected to play in Week3’s game against the Dolphins due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 1.

The product on the field now is the end result of poor drafting. Reggie needs to be held accountable he won’t be around for next year. The need to fire him the day after the season ends.
