NFL Notes: Collusion Cases, Broncos, & Cowboys

Collusion Cases

Broncos

The Broncos released a statement on Wednesday regarding the accusations of collusion with the Cowboys in contract talks with Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant.

“The suggestion our club may have colluded with another team about a negotiation is completely false and without merit.”

Cowboys

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and executive Stephen Jones flew to New York to spend five hours Tuesday night meeting with Roc Nation officials regarding an extension for Dez Bryant, per Adam Schefter.

“We’re excited about the next five years,” said Jerry Jones about the Bryant extension. “We had a long night last night. Stephen and I were involved with his advisors as late as 3 a.m.”

Jones says he took Bryant’s threats of holding out of camp and regular season games seriously, per Todd Archer.

Jones indicated that there is no special language in the contract to protect the team against potential off-the-field issues involving Bryant, via Pro Football Talk.
