Eagles

Eagles HC Chip Kelly confirmed that they are monitoring RB DeMarco Murray‘s workload this season, given that he carried the ball 392 times last season.

“He’s coming along,” Kelly said, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. “He’s done a lot of different things. We’re trying to get him acclimated. He also carried the ball more than anybody in the National Football League last year, so we are trying to integrate him into what we are doing.”

Kelly stressed the importance of ensuring that Murray is ready to go in Week 1.

“We look at everybody and where they are from a body standpoint,” Kelly said. “I think we manage every individual player here in terms of where they are and what they are. And my job and . . . our entire coaching staff, training staff, sports science staff is to get those guys ready to play in Week 1 [of the regular season].”

Jaguars

  • Jaguars HC Gus Bradley mentioned after their preseason opener that TE Julius Thomas has “stable fracture” in back of his hand and will miss the remainder of the preseason. (Adam Schefter)
  • However, Bradley added that Thomas should be back for Week 1.

Packers

  • According to Aaron Wilson, the NFL disapproved of the contract signed by Packers WR Ed Williams.
  • Wilson expects Green Bay and Williams to updated agreement and then resubmit it to the league.
