NFL Notes: Contracts, 49ers, Jets, Packers, Patriots

Contracts

According to Joel Corry of CBS Sports, a few players have guaranteed money kicking in today for the 2017 season.

  • Raiders WR Michael Crabtree‘s $6.25 million 2017 base salary becomes fully guaranteed today.
  • Raiders P Marquette King‘s $2.4 million 2017 base salary becomes fully guaranteed today.
  • Buccaneers LB Lavonte David‘s $6 million 2017 base salary becomes fully guaranteed today.
  • Browns CB Joe Haden has $4 million of his $11.1 million 2017 base salary now fully guaranteed.

49ers

  • Gil Brandt reports that Falcons RBs coach Bobby Turner is leaving to take the same position with the 49ers.

Jets

Jets veteran WR Brandon Marshall mentioned that the Jets haven’t given him any indication that he’ll be released this offseason.

“They haven’t said anything otherwise,” Marshall told NJ.com. “There was no indication that they don’t want me back.”

  • The Jets announced that they’ve hired offensive assistant/assistant QBs coach Mick Lombardi, offensive assistant Jason Vrable, and assistant strength and conditioning assistant Joe Giacobbe.

Packers

  • Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com spoke to a trusted packers source about where the team is likely to go in free agency and the draft. Pauline’s source said: “Corners, lots of them.

Patriots

  • Mike Freeman of B/R writes that he wouldn’t be shocked if the Patriots were considering trading TE Rob Gronkowski, considering that he’s coming back from another surgery and they managed to win a Super Bowl without him.
  • On top of that, Freeman mentions that New England could recoup a package of draft picks for Gronkowski.
