NFL Notes: Cowboys, Falcons, Giants, Vikings

Cowboys

Dez Bryant told reporters that he hasn’t heard back from free agent CB Darrelle Revis since he tried to recruit him to the Cowboys last week.

Even so, Bryant believes Revis could help them this season.

“It’d be a great look,” Bryant said, per Tom Pelissero. “Why not? We want to win.”

Falcons

Falcons RB Devonta Freeman mentioned Thursday that he isn’t a rush to sign a long-term extension with Atlanta and he instead plans to be patient with the process.

“A lot of feedback, man,” Freeman said, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN. “I ain’t going to get in-depth with it. Things looking good, though. It’s just a timing thing. He said, ‘Just be patient with the process.’ It’s a timing (thing). But like I told him, he knows I ain’t in a rush. He knows my team (of representatives) ain’t in a rush. Whatever works for us … process, timing thing.’

Giants

Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul doesn’t feel any additional pressure after signing a four-year, $62 million extension this offseason.

I don’t look at my new contract as pressure to perform,” Pierre-Paul said, via Pro Football Talk. “I just look at it as it was an opportunity given to me. I am going to play it out and get another one. Hopefully, I am here.”

Vikings

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer told reporters that he and his doctors are hoping “we’re just about out of the woods” in regards to his the issues in his right eye.

“The deal is, [the doctor] said, ‘I’m actually more worried about your [left] eye than [the right] eye,’ — now, don’t get all the headlines out of that,” Zimmer said, via ESPN.com. “What he said was, because your eyes are typically shaped the same way, there’s a 1-in-5 chance that something could happen in the other eye. But, he also said because we’re diligent about the things we’re doing, we would catch it much sooner [than the right eye]. But, saying that, if it’s the season, I’m going. It’s time to go, baby. We’ll have to worry about it after the season.”
