Cowboys
Cowboys WR Terrance Williams said he is not worried about future, even though he’s in the final year of his rookie contract.
“I’m just ready to be quiet and work and let my play speak for it, because you can always talk what you’re going to do and then if it doesn’t go as planned, it’s like a slap to your face,” Williams said, via ESPN.com. “So I’m just ready to work and just show my play.”
Lions
Lions QB Matthew Stafford said he can’t see WR Calvin Johnson coming out of retirement and returning to the team.
“In my mind, I don’t see that happening,” Stafford said, via DetroitLions.com. “He retired because he wanted to. That’s it.”
- Dave Birkett reports that Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for CB Darius Slay and ILB Stephen Tulloch, is at the Lions’ practice facility Thursday.
- Slay is looking for a long-term extension and Tulloch’s status with the team has been in question for months now.
Vikings
- Matt Vensel of the Star-Tribune writes that free agent acquisition Emmanuel Lamur could push veteran Chad Greenway for the starting weak-side linebacker job this summer.
- According to Vensel, it’s likely that veterans Travis Lewis and Audie Cole will have to compete with rookies Brandon Watts, Edmond Robinson and Kentrell Brothers for two or three spots in camp.
