Patriots

  • Patriots S Nate Ebner was selected to represent USA Rugby at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. (ESPN)
  • The Patriots fully support Ebner’s decision to pursue a spot on the Olympic team.
  • Mike Reiss mentions that Ebner will open training camp on the Patirots’ reserve list.

Seahawks

John Clayton mentioned in an interview with ESPN 710 in Seattle that there could be some cause for concern in regards to Seahawks HC Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider, considering that they still haven’t received new extensions.

“I think there has to be growing concerns each day this goes by,” Clayton said.

Clayton hinted at the Rams possibly having interest in Carroll next year should he be available.

“You know Pete wants to stay [in Seattle], he wants to finish what he started and see how far he can take this Super Bowl run,” Clayton said. “You have two teams in the division and one spot like Los Angeles — where Pete came from with USC — and I don’t think you want to go that direction. It’s like, just get this thing done now.

Even with the concerns, Clayton believes they’ll eventually get something done to keep Carroll and Schneider in place.

“Moving on you start to have concern,” said Clayton. “Worry, no. Worry is if you have an owner who doesn’t have any money. There is an owner here who is among the richest in sports and has a passion and concern for the team. Ultimately I think something will get done, but it needs to get done sooner, not later.
