NFL Notes: Davis Harris, Bills, Broncos

David Harris

  • According to Rich Cimini, free agent LB Davis Harris isn’t considering retirement, despite his recent release from the Jets.
  • Cimini says that there could be some action regarding Davis in the coming days as he has found interest from NFL teams.
  • Two teams tossed out by Cimini that would make sense for Davis include the Browns and Chargers.

Bills

Bills DT Marcell Dareus said that new HC Sean McDermott has been very detail orientated thus far in teaching them the new defensive scheme.

“I mean, the structure, alone, is pretty detailed,” Dareus said, via Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News. “I don’t want to say he micro-manages, but he makes sure we’re very sharp on what we’re doing.” The coaches “are really on us and they’re paying a lot of attention to a lot of small details, making sure we’re doing the right things.

“Hey, man, I’m happy for him to be here and just really excited to see what we can do.

Dareus was asked how this new defensive system fit him, but he explained that they won’t really know until they had some padded practices.

“Realistically, I really can’t say until we get to camp and get some pads on,” Dareus said. “Right now, we’re just going over a real basic, vanilla form of our playbook so we can get communication down. I’m just really excited for camp so we can really see what we’ve got going on.

“It’ll” provide “a better understanding of what I will be doing.”
