DEA Investigation

Jason La Canfora reports that the Drug Enforcement Administration is investigating claims of inappropriate distribution of painkillers by NFL teams.

This comes after a lawsuit was filed by former NFL players.

According to La Canfora, the DEA has agents at several NFL stadiums Sunday to question team doctors and trainers about their distribution of painkillers.

Broncos

  • RB Montee Ball re-injured his groin during Sunday’s game against the Rams and will undergo an MRI on Monday. (Mike Klis)
  • TE Julius Thomas suffered an ankle sprain, but x-rays came back negative. He’ll undergo an MRI on Monday. (Mike Klis)

Cardinals

  • The Cardinals are “totally confident” that QB Carson Palmer will be back next season. (Ed Werder)
