NFL Notes: DeflateGate, Arian Foster, Colts, & Jets

DeflateGate

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that the NFL will not impose discipline on either of the Patriots employees John Jastremski and Jim McNally for their role in DeflateGate.

In fact, Florio adds that V.P. of football operations Troy Vincent plans to meet with the two men and discuss their roles going forward instead of interrogating them.

Arian Foster

Jason La Canfora reports that it’s not out of the question that Texans RB Arian Foster could return from his groin injury next week.

Foster is reportedly well ahead of schedule and has told teammates and friends that a return for Week 2 is “quite possible.”

Houston will still be careful with Foster, given that he’s dealt with a number of injuries in recent years.

Colts

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, people close to Colts HC Chuck Pagano are viewing it as a “foregone conclusion” that he will be coaching elsewhere in 2015.

La Canfora mentions there has been “growing friction” between Pagano and Colts GM Ryan Grigson. However, the two men are not feuding on a consistent basis, even though they aren’t seeing eye-to-eye on all things relating to the team.

Colts owner Jim Irsay has reportedly compromised their ability to work together after he got involved in contract talks during the offseason.

Another issue that Pagano was “insulted” by the Colts one-year extension offered by Irsay following last season. As of now, Pagano has no say whatsoever in personnel matter, according to La Canfora.

Changes are expected one way or another, barring a Super Bowl appearance, but it seems like there’s no chance of both men being back in 2016.
