NFL Notes: DeMarco Murray, Browns, Dolphins, & Jaguars

DeMarco Murray

  • Cowboys free agent RB DeMarco Murray mentioned that “winning a Super Bowl means more than anything.

“It’s not about the yards for me,” Murray said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “It’s about winning a Super Bowl. If this place gives me the best chance I’m going to stay here. Winning a Super Bowl means more than anything.”

Browns

Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland writes that with the Browns moving to a 3-4 defense last year, OLB Jabaal Sheard was supposed to be the biggest beneficiary.

However, Sheard posted a career-low in sacks and Grossi come to the conclusion that he’s probably better off in a 4-3 defense.

According to Grossi, Sheard will “most likely will leave in free agency.”

Dolphins

  • According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Dolphins OL Nate Garner’s future is in question because of headache/migraine issues.
  • On top of that, Jackson notes that the Dolphins would save $1.6 million on the cap by cutting him.

Jaguars

  • ESPN’s Michael DiRocco doesn’t completely rule out the possibility that free agent WR Cecil Shorts could re-sign with the Jaguars.
  • However, DiRocco can see a team like the Browns targeting Shorts in free agency.
