Dolphins OC Clyde Christensen mentioned a few weeks ago that he expects WR DeVante Parker to have a “gigantic year” for them in 2017.
“I really think he’ll have a great, big year — a gigantic year for us,” Christensen said, via James Walker of ESPN. “That would be huge. … It helps with the quarterback. It helps with your running game. It helps everything.”
Parker believes he’s made a good amount of progress in the past year, which he attributes in part to being healthier.
“My reaction to that is, coach knows what I can do and seeing what I’ve been doing in the offseason and how much I’ve progressed since last year, and being a lot healthier than last year, too,” Parker said.
- According to Herbie Teope of the Times-Picayune, Saints LT Terron Armstead‘s recovery from shoulder surgery will require between 4-6 months.
- Teope notes that first-round OT Ryan Ramczyk could get the first chance to start at left tackle, but he also expects the rookie to compete for the right tackle job in training camp.
- Veteran OL Bryce Harris and Khalif Barnes are also candidates to assume left tackle duties along with Andrus Peat, who started seven games at the position last season as Armstead battled knee and quad injuries.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll mentioned TE Jimmy Graham is having a good offseason and become more of a “complete player” than they thought he would be.
“He’s so much more of a complete player than maybe we thought he would even become, really,” Carroll said, via Greg Bell of the News Tribune. “So, he surprised us. He and Russell are really tuned in. They spend a lot of time together.”
At this point last year, Carroll admitted they weren’t sure how Graham was going to play for them, given that he was coming off of a torn patellar tendon in his right knee
“Last year at this time we didn’t know what he was going to be like (for the season). We were positive (in our hopes), but we didn’t know,” Carroll said. “He had a phenomenal offseason with us. His preparation to get here was just terrific.”
