NFL Notes: Draft, Bears, Lions, Panthers, Redskins, & Saints

Draft

  • Maryland DT Darius Kilgo has visited with the Bills, Packers, Dolphins, and Redskins. (Aaron Wilson)

Bears

  • Jeff Dickerson would not be surprised if the Bears fielded trade offers for DT Will Sutton during the draft, as he doesn’t appear to be a great fit in their new 3-4 defense.
  • Dickerson doesn’t see the Bears trading up to No. 2 overall for Marcus Mariota, due to the high cost and because Jay Cutler may not be an attractive option for the Titans.

Lions

Panthers

  • David Newton suggests Indian RB Tevin Coleman as a player the Panthers could consider in round two.
  • Newton mentions that because wide receiver and offensive tackle are deep positions in the draft, the panthers could wait to address of them in the later rounds.

Redskins

  • John Keim of ESPN can see the Redskins taking Oregon QB Marcus Mariota if he ends up being available to Washington at No. 5 overall.

Saints

  • Mike Triplett of ESPN can see the Saints trading up in this year’s draft, since they have nine picks to work with.
