NFL Notes: Draft, Broncos, Dolphins, & Patriots

Draft

  • Omar Kelly reports that the Dolphins will host LSU OL La’el Collins for a visit next week.
  • Aaron Wilson reports that Wisconsin OT Rob Havenstein has worked out for the Bengals, Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Rams.

Broncos

  • Mike Klis of the Denver Post would be surprised if the Broncos did not try to trade up from their No. 28 spot.
  • Klis can see the Broncos moving up into the early to mid twenties to get an offensive tackle prospect.

Dolphins

Barry Jackson reports that the Dolphins are considering at least two receivers with their first-round pick: Louisville’s DeVante Parker and Central Florida’s Breshad Perriman.

According to Jackson, Arizona State WR Jaelen Strong could be an option for Miami if they decide to trade out of the No. 14 overall pick.

Another name to keep an eye on for the Dolphins is USC WR Nelson Agholor, who could come off the board anywhere between the mid-teens and to mid-second round.

Other mid-round options could include:

Some view Michigan WR/TE Devin Funchess, Auburn’s Sammy Coates, Ohio State’s Devin Smith, Miami’s Phillip Dorsett, Oklahoma’s Dorial GreenBeckham and FSU’s Reshad Greene.

Patriots

  • Mike Reiss mentions Miami’s Ereck Flowers, Oregon’s Jake Fisher, Missouri’s Mitch Morse, Florida State’s Tre Jackson, South Carolina’s A.J. Cann and Duke’s Laken Tomlinson as potential offensive line targets in this year’s draft for the Patriots.
  • Reiss expects the the Steelers to be the Patriots’ season-opening opponent on Thursday, Sept. 10.
  • The Patriots are hosting South Florida CB Chris Dunkley for a visit this week.
  • According to Reiss, the Patriots are likely in the market for quality depth at their off-the-line linebacker spot.
